A well-preserved, fully calcite-replaced specimen of Promicroceras planicosta, exhibiting fine ribbing and characteristic planispiral coiling. This taxon is diagnostic of the lower part of the Obtusum Zone (Sinemurian Stage), and is a key index fossil within the Lower Jurassic ammonite biostratigraphy of the UK.
